It’s been almost year since the first posts in this thread on top of plenty of other reports of similar problems, running back much longer. If you start the laptop on the dock, it is fine but if you pull the laptop off the dock and go to a meeting it is blurry on laptop. I told him it is a Microsoft issue that they are supposedly working on. The best thing to do would be to shutdown or logout when making the transition.
He told me that defeats the purpose of mobility. I had to agree Scaling doesn’t work. However my laptop screen is little fuzzy then 😀 But it is much better then fuzziness of external screen. Weird trade-off. Same problem here. Graphics Driver are up2date but the office suite is still fuzzy. It doesn’t even work if I disconnect all external monitors and just use the laptops primary res 4k.
Guess not yet. Admittedly it isn’t the recommended setting and yes everything is just that bit larger, but on a 24″ screen it’s well worth the trade off from viewing blurry text in apps word, excel, outlook you are using for most of your day! I avoided changing the resolution of the laptop as some have advised as I regularly disconnect from the dock and need the settings to be right, this gave me the best of both :.
I have a similar experience, when moving to a new Dell computer running Windows I have an NEC monitor of high quality, by , but the standard text it is too small to read easily, although clear. The text in Firefox browser remains perfectly clear. The text is clearer. Toggle Cleartype from On to Off, or the other way. The text is then much clearer for the remainder of the session, but reverts to fuzzy after a reboot.
My previous Dell computer originally had Windows 7, and after an upgrade to Windows 10 the text remained clear. Following my post on 9 March, I have changed from shutting down the computer each night to putting it into hibernate mode. Then when I reboot in the morning the text remains clear. I now have to toggle Cleartype only after a restart, for example following an update. This actually worked for me! Thanks, David. The only one I was really struggling with was Outlook.
